Leaf – Portland St, Manchester Wedding venue
Flashback to May 2018 for my vistit effortlessy cool Leaf on Portand St for the wedding of Chris & Laura. After having destination wedding they were having their party reception back at home.
As with all my couples I supply an online planner for the playlsit adn music requests, but they wanted such a selction of music they wanted to supply their list speratly so I was more than happy to accomodate their 500+ song playlist. Some DJ’s might bulk at this idea, but to me it just gives a greater range to play from depending on how the day transpires and dancefloor reacts. Lots of different catorgies from sixties, eighties, indie, pop punk, country, electric meant that diversity wasn’t an issue but if people liked I had plenty to choose from.
1st Dance and beyond
The couples first dance was the criminally underused Ramones – Baby I Love You with everyone singing along. From there we went all over their playlist making sure the generes with the most requests got covered. And we civerd evertythgin from some country to Pop Punk got an outting at some point. As with all extensive playlists I get given, so much get un-played, but pretty much everying I did play got a great response on the dancefloor.
Next wedding and beyond…
So to wrap it up, I had way too many songs requested, but that meant everything I played hit! We covered a large selection of music in a relatively small period of time, and everyone had a blast, and I can’t wait to go back again.
