Castlefield Rooms Wedding
This Castlefield Rooms wedding was in the Brindley Suite . The couple got married in Wigan then came down to have the wedding breakfast and evening reception here. On this occasion I set-up the disco during the day before their arrival, so all I had to do once I arrived was to turn everything on and get playing. So I did and the party began.
Cake & The First Dance
To play in the background during the cake cutting they had requested Mirrors – Justin Timberlake . Then once everyone had take a picture we moved our attention onto the dance floor for the 1st Dance. The song they had chosen for the first dance was Christina Perri – A Thousand Years . Halfway through the song they had requested that the their wedding guests were to join in. And they did.
Party Time
The floor was still full from the 1st dance and they had requested to get the party going to a particular song so up stepped Luther Vandross with Never Too Much . Then the proper dancing began and it never stopped all night! Different genre after different genre the floor was solid. It’s safe to say the dance floor got rightfully abused all night. We then some Motown, Disco, Eighties, Nineties, Urban, Soul and of course a little chart in as well.
Last Dance
I hit them with a double wammy for the finale 2 songs. I had saved Mr. Brightside for the 2nd to last. It was on their playlist to play at some point in the evening, and judging by the way the evening went, we never got to play much indie. The intro got everyone running to the dance floor who weren’t already on it. This got everyone completely bouncing hands and screaming – as you do! I then followed with the Louise & Nick’s last song of Use Somebody – King of Leon. This just about tipped everyone over the edge. Singing at the top of their lungs and it gave the best send off for the happy couple.
Finally…
As with all good things, they must come to an end, and we did but to chanting of 1 more song, 1 more song. I don’t normally do the extra as the venues insist on a time to finish and not a minute more. But I squeezed 1 more on as requested by the Louise on the spot John Paul Young – Love is in the air. Everyone loved it, it was perfect! I’ve always had great nights here at the Castlefields Rooms, and this night was no different. Can’t wait to go back again!!!
Castlefield Wedding DJ Review
Hi David,
Sorry it’s taken so long for us to get round to doing this. I feel like we’re only just getting back to reality after the honeymoon!
Myself and nick just wanted to say a massive thank you! We were so happy that you were able to step in when our other dj let us down 10 weeks before the wedding and on the day we were so happy it had worked out like that. I know I’m bias but I really think it was the best wedding party I’ve ever been to. The dance floor was full all night and I think one of my friends summed it up well when she said ‘I didn’t want to go to the toilet as I didn’t want to miss a song’.
In the run up to the wedding too, it was all so smooth and efficient. Even down to you liaising with the venue before I had even asked to plan your setting up! It took all of the stress out of it for us.
Once again, thank you so much.
