I got booked to play at Cameron & Molly’s intimate wedding at the unusual wedding venue that is The Hidden River Cabins in Carlise, Cumbria, only 6weeks prior to the big day. But thatnks to the my wedding planner (mainly for music lets be honest) an da few emails gong backwards and forwards, a great day was has made.
You’re never sure how small weddings are going to go, but I find as long the room is full of people, and they want to have a good a time, then it never fails! And so it was the case at this wedding.
The First Dance
Only 24 guests, but they were lovely, pleaseant and determined to have a great evening so from the 1st song to last, the dancefloor was never empty. Kicking of with the happy couples fIrst dance which was a piano version by Jazz Morley of Klangkarussell – Sonnentanz (Sun Don’t Shine) Which they dance to entirely on their own. Beautiful. This was followed the mothers song Songbird – Eva Cassidy (accoustic) .
Then we got on the important thing of dancing the night away which we did all night without the floor being empty, playing the requests and dedications of the happy couple.
Last Dance
Unfortuantely the long day and all the dancing meant we ended up calling it a night a little earlier due to people being ‘knackered’ which is as good a reason as any if you ask me! So as requested we finished with Kate Bush – Running up the hill. hich brough a lovely end to what had been a fabulous day, an djust goes to show doesn’t matter on how many people just that you have the right people to share on your specil day!
