Hyde Bank Farm Wedding
Having played at Hyde Bank Farm many times, I’d thought i’d better do little something about a recent wedding here as it was in the new extension. And what a lovely room it is. More space, gorgeous 9m!!! window with views across the Goyt Valley. It really does take it another level now. Anyway on with the wedding….
The Playlist.
Helen & Mark had used the online planner and requested approx 110 songs. Now they were very adamant, that these were only a guide, to play if poss not a hard and fast ‘must play’ list. Which was great as it meant I could cherry pick the best tunes to play, join them together with my choices, plus take requests on the night this meant everyone hcould have a great night – And they did! The playlist it self consisted mainly of Dance, Urban, Indie and eighties. But the largest genre of music was Chart music.
First Dance.
As much as their playlist consisted of Chart music, their first dance was a classic The Temptations – My Girl.I normally get asked to play this as a father daughter song so it made a nice change to play it as a first dance. Their guests were invited to join halfway though so they could share in the song. The couple then asked for their second song to be an up beat one so they chose Walk The Moon – Shut up and dance . With the dance floor all ready full it started bouncing straight away to this tune!
Party Time.
We played a bit of something from Rock ‘n’ Roll & Motown thru to Nineties Pop and Indie, before we hit the dance & chart tunes at the end of the night. The dance floor never missing a beat. Highlights include Proud Mary – Tina Turner , Mr. Brightside – The Killers & Set you free – N-Trance.
Last Song of the night.
Unfortunately the end always comes round to soon and unfortunately the same again applies to this wedding. Helen & Mark had decided to have a double finale song which included 2 great tracks to finish off any event. First up was Never Forget – Take That . This still never fails to get everyone up, hands in the air, just awesome reactions. This was followed by Oasis – Don’t Look Back In Anger. Again everyone just singing at the tops of their lungs. It just helps to create the perfect end to the perfect day .
To Wrap it up.
So all in all it was a fabulous evening here at this Hyde Bank Farm wedding. Everyone using and abusing the dance floor and lots of memories made for the Bride & groom. New room – same results great times, and I can’t wait to go back again.
