Styal Lodge Wedding August 2016
Styal Lodge Wedding august 2016 blog post. I was back here at Styal Lodge in Styal Cheshire for another wedding and thought I do a little blog post about it, as it was a fabulous night, and having played here on a few occasions now, gives me chance to show off a few additional pictures, and talk about how and what we did.
I’ll go through what we did to start with, the magic moments, plus a little gallery at the end. If you have any questions about an up coming Styal Lodge Wedding then please do get in touch.
Introductions
First off I arrive makes sure it’s the right time to unload, in this case it was, so I just did that. Unloaded & set-up the disco and Micro uplighting package. Set the lights to blue to colour co-ordinate with the wedding colour theme. Once done, I introduced myself to the photographer and venue staff to let them know I was here, what I was doing and when etc. I then took over the background music from the in-house system, so I was in full control of the music for introductions and music.
First Dance
The Best man introduced and set up the cake cutting, during which I played Lifehouse – You and Me. It was then left for me to do the announcements. We started with Father & Daughter dance which was The Temptations – My Girl . Half way through I was asked to invite the brides sisters to join in – which they then did. This made for a really nice moment for the father. very special.
He then handed is daughter over to the groom so they could share their 1st dance as a married couple. Their song for this dance was Boyce Avenue – A thousand Years which is really lover acoustic cover of the Christina Perri song. After sharing the 1st half of the song together I was asked to invite everyone to join in, and they did. Again sharing this moment can really be such a special moment. This is why talk about it at any consultation as I want you to have it how you want it. On your own, share half or all of it. Your day, your way.
Early Evening Party
We then kicked of the party with chart tunes, to keep everyone up everyone and dancing before dropping down the decades to some Disco & Motown. Whilst in the disco era I played The O’Jays Love Train and they started to form a train around the floor.
We continued with some the 60’s 70’s and 80’s, keeping the dance floor rotating and the wedding guests happy.
Into the night
After the bacon butties had gone out and devoured, we rolled into the second half of the night rocking things up a little. Starting with some 80’s rock then rolling into some Pop punk songs like Blink 182 All the Small things & Wheatus Teenage Dirtbag . With some indie like The Killers Somebody Told Me and Kings of Leon Sex On Fire .
The Finale
They had chosen the last 2 songs of the night. First up was Oasis Wonderwall . I already had everyone up by this time but they soon formed a large circle, bride and groom in the middle, hands in the air singing at the top of their lungs!!! This was then followed by the family tradition of finishing of the night with Sister Sledge We are family . To which everyone danced until right until the end when we gave the happy couple 3 cheers.
So Finally
We had the first dance around 8:15, last dance at 12:30 and the floor was in constant use for the whole night, and a great night was had by all. Lots of dancing, singing and moments. It truly was a great night with great people. I wish them all the best for the future.
