So you’re getting married and your having a little debate between yourselves – what song do we want for our 1st dance. Well what about about what happens before, you know at the ceremony. All those little moments to make perfect with your song choice. Those words that mean the world to you both, at this most special of times. Basically why book a Wedding Ceremony DJ

Why bother with a Professional Wedding DJ because classical music played through a portable cd player supplied by the venue will do. Well it will and it won’t. For starters, will it be loud enough for everyone to hear?   It doesn’t have to be booming – Obviously – but still needs to be clear enough for the sounds or words to be heard, so as to mean something. Stopping and starting suddenly rather than fading in and out at specific points would be smoother and less harsh.

So lets start at the beginning of the ceremony…

Background-

Classical music isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Picture this – Groom waiting patiently for his future wife to walk up the aisle to him. He can be there up to 40mins or longer, meeting and greeting, and you know what, there is that annoying music that just makes him more agitated. Why not have something that will help keep him calm, whether that’s an acoustic selection or maybe a playlist  love songs for you both.  The goal being to help the groom relax. Also once everyone is in and waiting, you have the bride outside, waiting for her aisle song. Why not have the last ‘background’ song mean something as well, that way you both know after that song the main event is coming.

The Bridal Entrance-

you can have a song start right at the beginning , or at a certain point. The end goal being that you walk down the aisle with your father and you will arrive at the alter just the right time, to mach the right words that mean the world to you. Then gently faded out, not stopped suddenly. Just making everything relaxed and right.

Signing of the register-

You are now husband & wife, you may now kiss the bride. Followed by the signing of the register. A this point you can have a couple of songs playing. This serves 2 points.

1-Again that special song making that moment that bit more special. The 1st song you hear as a married couple.

2- Remember your guests, well, they are going to see you sign and pose for photos, your witness sign and pose, then everyone pose. Now if there is a little music it just takes the edge of the formalities for you and your guests, it’s nice. On one occasion just as the couple where announced as husband & wife I had to play Etta James  – At last – just at the point of ‘At Last’ because it was an in joke with their family and everyone laughed. It helped make the moment.

Walking up the Aisle-

Another choice moment to make special. You’ve had exchanging of vows, signing of the register,  pictures, and then you have the first send off as you leave the room. Make it you, make it lovely make it fun! For one example I was requested  to play Signed, sealed, delivered by Stevie Wonder the bride literally bounce down the isle happy as happy could be.

As a Wedding Ceremony DJ It’s my job to help you make these moment more you! It’s about allowing you to put your finger print over the ceremony in a discreet but very personal way.

I would really love for you to let me know your song choices for the moments I have mentioned and see if we can build a definitive list of  Ceremony Moment songs.

David.
